We hope that this week back to school has been smooth for everyone. It’s been great to see kids in the orchestra room and help them get back into the swing of things – music definitely helps make that happen! A note about the orchestra activity and maintenance fees: when the calendar was originally made – fees were to be due by September 15th. However, with the hardship of Hurricane Harvey, fees will now be due October 2nd. We hope that this helps alleviate some stress as families try to get back on their feet. As always, if there are any financial circumstances that make paying these fees difficult, please reach out to the directors. We are happy to help and find a solution, but we can’t help if we aren’t aware of a problem.
If you are new to Oak Ridge, student fees are able to be paid online through the school web store. Parents are able to log into the account for their student and pay any outstanding fees. Our finance office workers have to load fees for 4,500 students, so that is why the web store is not working yet. The hurricane also pushed us back on getting everything up and running online. We apologize for the inconvenience this has caused. As soon as the web store is current and working, we will happily let you know. They have an enormous job and we are thankful for their support of our program!! If you would rather pay with a check, please wait to send the check with your student to school until the finance office is ready to accept payment.
IMPORTANT: Checks need to have the student’s name and their six-digit ID number, as well as the parent’s driver license number. Please do NOT pay orchestra fees on Charms – but instead on the ORHS website. Fees paid in Charms will not go to the proper account and cannot be refunded.
